Requirements
- An earned doctorate in Physics, Astronomy, Physics Education or a very closely related field
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Strong teaching skills
- Commitment to high-quality professional service

- Experience and skills needed to maintain the Louisiana Tech Observatory
- Experience and skills needed to teach astronomy and astrophysics courses
- Experience and skills needed to lead undergraduate and graduate students in astronomy-related research projects
Responsibilities
- Teach astronomy and astrophysics courses as well as physics courses
- Maintain the Louisiana Tech Observatory
- Lead undergraduate and graduate students in astronomy-related research projects
- Actively participate in program and college responsibilities, including service on committees
- Direct undergraduate research
