About The Position

The Department of Operations Management and Supply Chain at California State University San Marcos seeks a part-time lecturer for Summer 2026 to teach OM 614: Business Forecasting. This course covers methods used to predict the uncertain nature of business trends in an effort to help managers make better decisions and plans. Study and manipulation of historical data in the search for patterns that can be effectively extrapolated to produce forecast. Includes exploring data patterns, moving averages and smoothing methods, regression with time series data, ARIMA methodology, and judgmental forecasting and forecast adjustment.

Requirements

  • A master's degree in the area of instruction, or a closely related field.
  • Working in the State of California is a condition of employment.
  • Applicants will be required to disclose whether they have received a final administrative decision or final judicial decision determining that they have committed sexual harassment within the last 7 years only after a determination is made that they meet the minimum qualifications for the position, and before an offer of employment is extended.

Responsibilities

  • Teach OM 614: Business Forecasting during Summer Session 2026.
  • Conduct classes on Mondays and Wednesdays, from 5:30 p.m. to 8:15 p.m.

  • Demonstrate intercultural competence and a commitment to serving the campus community in teaching and service.
