About The Position

Indiana University Bloomington (IUB) School of Public Health-Bloomington (SPH-B) invites applications for the position of Lecturer of Exercise Science in the Department of Kinesiology. The SPH-B seeks passionate, contemporary educators who will contribute to excellence in teaching and student learning in the study and application of human movement, physical activity, exercise, and human performance, preparing students for continued education and professional careers in kinesiology, allied health, or related fields. This 10-month instructional faculty appointment is planned to start August 1, 2027. Appointment may be made at the rank of Lecturer, Senior Lecturer, or Teaching Professor, commensurate with qualifications and experience. This position is located on the Bloomington campus of Indiana University. Successful candidates are expected to work on campus to allow full engagement with the department, school, university, and community.

Requirements

  • Ability to contribute to the teaching mission of the department in exercise science.
  • Ability to support related areas of the curriculum including physical activity, health promotion, and pre-professional health preparation.

Responsibilities

  • Substantially contribute to the overall academic excellence of the department primarily through teaching and student learning.
  • Developing, delivering, and enhancing courses and curricula within their areas of expertise.
  • Mentoring and supporting undergraduate and/or graduate students as appropriate to their assigned responsibilities.
  • Engaging in ongoing professional development and other activities that support excellence in teaching, student learning, curriculum enhancement, and student success.
  • Contribute to the department through service in support of teaching and academic program delivery, such as internship coordination, experiential or service-learning initiatives, and community outreach.
