About The Position

The Psychology and Child Development Department in the College of Liberal Arts at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, invites applications for a one-year, full-time (Non-tenure-track) lecturer appointment in Psychology beginning August 17, 2026, with the possibility of a one-year extension to AY 27/28 contingent on budget, department need, and satisfactory evaluations. The successful candidate will have a master's degree with a specialization in clinical/counseling and/or multicultural psychology and teach PSY3372 (Multicultural Psychology) and PSY3323 (The Helping Relationship). The expected teaching load is 4 courses per semester with potential summer teaching opportunities. We seek a teacher committed to excellence in undergraduate instruction and Cal Poly’s Learn by Doing philosophy. Initial rank and salary for lecturer faculty are based on professional experience and educational background and are determined by the hiring department. Most new lecturers are hired at the Lecturer A or B rank.

Requirements

  • A master's degree with a specialization in clinical/counseling and/or multicultural psychology or related field.
  • Teaching experience in multicultural or clinical/counseling psychology.
