About The Position

The Department of Mathematics at California State University San Marcos seeks a part-time lecturer for Fall 2025 to teach Math 132 Survey of Calculus. This course covers basic calculus concepts with applications to business, economics, and the social sciences. Topics include differential calculus for algebraic, exponential and logarithmic functions; optimization, linearization, and other applications of derivatives; and an introduction to integral calculus. The course includes the use of graphing calculators. The position is in-person, with multiple sections available at varying days and times. The role is within the College of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics.

Requirements

  • A master's degree in Mathematics or a similar field.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the State of California.
  • Must disclose whether they have received a final administrative decision or final judicial decision determining that they have committed sexual harassment within the last 7 years (disclosed after meeting minimum qualifications and before offer).
  • Must sign a release form authorizing the release of information by current/former employers concerning substantiated allegations of misconduct (for final stage applicants).
  • Must complete a background check, including a criminal records check.
  • Must complete employment verification, education verification, and reference checks.
  • Must comply with the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act as a condition of employment.
