About The Position

The University of North Texas at Dallas (UNT Dallas) College of Business and Technology invites applications for the Lecturer of Information Technology (Cybersecurity Specialization) position starting in Fall 2027. This is a full-time, non-tenure track position. The successful candidate will be expected to achieve excellence in teaching and service, and to contribute to the growth of the UNT-Dallas Information Technology program. Individuals with specific interests and experience in cybersecurity are strongly encouraged to apply. UNT Dallas is the only public four-year university exclusively in the City of Dallas. Requirements

An earned master’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
Demonstrated ability to teach undergraduate courses in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, and Computer Science.
Demonstrated effective writing and verbal communication skills.
Experience using technology in teaching and experience teaching in multiple modalities (hybrid, online, and face-to-face).
Evidence of significant academic research and/or applied experience in Cybersecurity.

Nice To Haves

A doctoral degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
Experience in developing both face-to-face and online courses.
Experience in curriculum development and program assessment.
Academic experience working on a campus with culturally diverse students, staff, and faculty.

Responsibilities

Teaching four (4) courses per semester.
Participating in service activities such as program development, course development, program assessment, and committee leadership.
Provide instruction in a full range of undergraduate Cybersecurity and Information Technology courses, including but not limited to Foundations of Cybersecurity, Network Administration, Cloud Security, Computer Forensics, Computer Networks, and Programming.
The successful applicant will be the inaugural cybersecurity instructor at UNT Dallas.
