About The Position
The University Writing Program at Brandeis University is seeking an adjunct instructor to teach one section of the Composition Seminar (CSEM 1a) in Fall 2026. This one-semester foundational writing course is designed to enhance students' writing abilities and prepare them for advanced coursework, including the First-Year Seminar and other classes within the Brandeis curriculum. The course is scheduled to meet on Tuesdays and Fridays from 9:35 AM to 10:55 AM.
Requirements
- Demonstrated commitment to and excellence in undergraduate teaching.
- Experience teaching first-year writing.
- Submit a cover letter, CV, a sample writing course syllabus, and names and contact information for two references.
Responsibilities
- Teach one section of the Composition Seminar (CSEM 1a) in Fall 2026.
- Strengthen students' writing skills.
- Prepare students for the First-Year Seminar and other courses across the Brandeis curriculum.
