JOB DESCRIPTION: The International Relations Program at Pomona College invites applications for a temporary, part-time Lecturer in international political economy for academic year, 2026-2027. The position has a teaching load of one course in Fall 2026. The course will be International Economic Relations, an international political economy course broadly conceived that does not require macroeconomics or microeconomics prerequisites. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The successful candidate will have demonstrated ability or potential to teach and mentor exceptional students of diverse backgrounds—utilizing pedagogical practices that are rigorous, inclusive, and which promote academic equity. QUALIFICATIONS: Education--Required: Ph.D. or ABD Teaching Experience--Preferred: Demonstrable experience teaching as a graduate teaching assistant or instructor of record. REQUIREMENTS: For the fall semester, the contract start date is August 1 with instruction beginning on Monday, August 31, 2026. After submitting proof of work authorization and completing onboarding, lecturers are expected to prepare for their classes and attend the New Faculty Orientation, held in the weeks before classes start. This non-tenure-track position is instructional and does not require student advising, faculty service or participation in faculty governance.
