About The Position

The Department of Geography at Dartmouth College is seeking to appoint a non-tenure track Lecturer specializing in critical human geography. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching introductory and mid- to upper-level courses in urban, feminist, and cultural geography. This is a full-time, in-residence position at Dartmouth College in Hanover, NH, with a start date of September 1, 2026. The teaching load involves 5 courses spread over three 10-week quarters (at least one per term), in addition to advising students in the Honors Program, which is equivalent to one additional course. The initial appointment is for one year with the possibility of renewal. Requirements

PhD in Geography or a closely related field, by the start date
Scholars who are currently ABD are welcome to apply, provided that they will have their PhD conferred by the start date
Specialize in critical human geography
Be prepared to teach introductory and mid- to upper-level courses in urban, feminist and cultural geography

Responsibilities

Teach introductory and mid- to upper-level courses in urban, feminist and cultural geography (5 courses spread over three 10-week quarters, at least one per term)
