About The Position

California State University San Marcos (CSUSM) in the College of Humanities, Arts, Behavioral and Social Sciences, Department of Literature and Writing Studies, is accepting applications for a pool of part-time lecturers for the General Education Writing (GEW) program for the Academic Year 2026/2027. These are short-term temporary positions that may last from one day to a whole semester, filled on an as-needed basis. Applications in this pool are valid only for the current academic year and the pool will close on May 31st. To be considered for the following academic year, a new application must be submitted by June 15th. Salary is commensurate with credential and experience.

Requirements

  • A doctorate or terminal degree in the area of instruction or a closely related field.
  • Working in the State of California is a condition of employment.
  • Applicants will be required to disclose whether they have received a final administrative decision or final judicial decision determining that they have committed sexual harassment within the last 7 years only after a determination is made that they meet the minimum qualifications for the position, and before an offer of employment is extended.
  • Applicants who reach the final stages of the application process must also sign a release form that authorizes the release of information by the applicant’s current and/or former employers to the CSU concerning any substantiated allegations of misconduct.
  • Must comply with the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act as a mandated reporter.
  • Subject to employment verification, education verification, reference checks and criminal record checks.
