The Environmental and Ocean Sciences Department at the University of San Diego, within the College of Arts and Sciences, is seeking applications for a part-time instructor for EOSC 123 Organisms and Ecosystem laboratory. This course is an introductory, in-person laboratory component focusing on organisms and environmental biology from an ecological perspective. Students will explore fundamental ecological principles and their relationship to major groups of organisms. This is a required course for all Environmental and Ocean Sciences majors. The laboratory exercises are well-developed, and materials will be provided. The course typically includes three field trips per semester to local areas such as Mission Bay, tide pooling at Pacific Beach, and the San Diego Zoo. Part-time instructors will not teach more than 6 units per semester. This position is part of the Non-tenure Track Bargaining Unit and is a temporary, non-benefit-based role with an anticipated end date of 12/31/26, renewable at the discretion of the University and dependent upon performance and funding.
