About The Position

The Department of Biological Sciences at California State University San Marcos seeks a part-time lecturer for Fall 2026 to teach BIOL 104: Principles of Biology: Human Emphasis. There are multiple sections of this course, which can be taught in person, hybrid or completely online. This course covers principles of cellular, organismal and population biology with primary representation relating to the human organism, including the study of cells, tissues, and mammalian organ systems.

Requirements

  • A master’s degree or equivalent professional experience in Biological Sciences or related fields.
  • Working in the State of California is a condition of employment.
  • Applicants will be required to disclose whether they have received a final administrative decision or final judicial decision determining that they have committed sexual harassment within the last 7 years only after a determination is made that they meet the minimum qualifications for the position, and before an offer of employment is extended.
  • Applicants who reach the final stages of the application process must also sign a release form that authorizes the release of information by the applicant’s current and/or former employers to the CSU concerning any substantiated allegations of misconduct.

Nice To Haves

  • A doctorate or equivalent in Biological Sciences, and related fields.
  • Experience teaching similar courses in 4-year universities.
  • Demonstrate intercultural competence and a commitment to serving the campus community as it relates to teaching and, as applicable, service.
