The Biological Sciences Department at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona invites applications for its Part-Time Lecturer pool in Biological Sciences for part-time teaching appointments. The university is one of three polytechnic universities in the 22-campus California State University system and is known for its learn-by-doing approach. The College of Science's mission is to educate, mentor, and inspire students through scientific inquiry and hands-on learning, offering various undergraduate and Master's degrees. The Biological Sciences department offers a Master's program and a Bachelor's program to over 1,000 students in Biology, Biotechnology, and Environmental Biology, focusing on progressive pedagogical techniques and a learn-by-doing experience for under-represented minority and first-generation students. The temporary faculty pool is continuously open, and positions are filled as needed. Candidates may need to be available to begin teaching on short notice. Teaching opportunities are available during Fall, Spring, and potentially Summer Sessions. The department welcomes applications from experienced, student-centered individuals to teach in all subject areas of biology, including microbiology, molecular biology, organismal biology, ecology, evolution, and biotechnology. Candidates will be interviewed for teaching effectiveness in their preferred subject area.
