About The Position

The Department of Materials Science and Engineering at The Pennsylvania State University seeks applicants for a full-time Lecturer/Assistant Teaching Professor. Candidates must have a Ph.D. in materials science and engineering or related field for appointment as an Assistant Teaching Professor, or be on track to earn a Ph.D. in materials science and engineering or related field by December 2026 for appointment as a Lecturer. Candidates will be asked to demonstrate knowledge of effective pedagogical strategies, as well as excellence in teaching. Successful candidates are expected to teach both lecture and laboratory courses as needed, teach and manage in-person and online courses, and mentor students. Candidates may also have the opportunity to participate in departmental research initiatives depending on candidate’s interest and departmental needs. Additionally, service to the department, college, and university is expected. This is a full-time, 48-week, non-tenure-track appointment.

Responsibilities
