About The Position

The Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences is creating an environment that affirms community across all dimensions. This is a 12-month, non-tenure-accruing, faculty position that will be 100% teaching available in the Entomology and Nematology Department within the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences and the Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences at the University of Florida. The salary is competitive and comes with a full benefits package, with initial funding for two years and a possible extension pending funding availability. A successful candidate with a Ph.D. degree would be eligible to use the ‘Instructional Assistant Professor’ working title.

Requirements

  • A M.S. degree (foreign equivalent acceptable) in entomology, nematology, biology, or a closely related discipline.

Responsibilities

  • Support the teaching mission of large and expanding undergraduate and graduate programs in Entomology and Nematology.
  • Teach two courses per semester (including summers).
  • May assist with development of new courses.
  • Teach a mix of in-person and online courses including (1) courses related to the biology and management of insect pests, (2) general entomology courses for non-majors, and (3) a course related to insects as vectors of disease.
  • Participate in scholarly activities related to instruction, which may include participating in curriculum revision and enhancement, supervising undergraduate students, conducting and publishing teaching-related scholarship, producing learning tools, or engaging in professional development activities related to teaching and advising.
