About The Position

The Leaves of Absence, Accommodations and Disability (LAD) Analyst will report to the LAD Manager and be responsible to process and manage cases related to leaves of absence, accommodations and disability (which includes family and medical leave (FMLA), personal leave, parental leave, medical and non-medical accommodations, and other programs as assigned). This position will be regarded as a key knowledge resource and work directly to support associate(s), managers, HR team and vendor(s). Urgency, detail orientation and processing accuracy are paramount in this role. In addition, a customer service and a customer care mindset is key to ensuring a positive associate experience. This role will also assist the benefits team with ad-hoc support, as needed. Therefore, learning the general details of our benefits offering is required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Health Care or related field.
  • Experience assessing, processing, and making determinations regarding accommodation and leave requests.
  • Strong detail orientation and organizational skills.
  • Must have CLMS certification or be willing to complete certification within 6 months of starting with the company.
  • Self-management to independently complete assignments and successfully manage deadlines (i.e., must demonstrate the ability to effectively manage multiple cases and ensure they are responded to in a timely manner).
  • Demonstrated ability to keep sensitive matters confidential.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to articulate leave and accommodations information to associates, managers, third parties and Human Resources.
  • Ability to apply deductive reasoning, research and problem-solving skills to analyze case details, assess needs and determine next steps.
  • Demonstrate solid Excel skills and computer literacy to utilize reporting to evaluate cases as well as provide accommodations and leaves statistics.
  • Must display a strong understanding of key federal, state, and local leave and disability accommodation law requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Handle intake, processing, and determination of medical and non-medical accommodation requests, leaves of absence and other programs and benefits as assigned.
  • Serve as a liaison between associates, managers, Human Resources, Workers Compensation and Legal team members to administer accommodations, leave and return to work opportunities for occupational or non-occupational injuries/illnesses/conditions.
  • Regarding ADA program: Review medical and non-medical information relating to accommodation requests; ask appropriate follow-up questions to associate and/or associate’s medical provider to make recommendations regarding the physical and cognitive requirements of roles and the essential job functions of roles.
  • Facilitate appropriate dialogue with associates, managers, and Human Resources regarding proposed accommodations, determinations, and return to work; manage the follow-up and approval/denial of requests.
  • Regarding Leave of Absence Program Serve as a resource to Floor & Decor’s third party leave administrator and be responsible to coordinate communications between the third-party administrator and key stakeholders.
  • Administer leave requests not administered by third-parties (e.g., continuous leave under the Americans with Disabilities Act, ADA) and the approval/denial (or follow-up required) of requested leave.
