About The Position

Arnold Grounds Apartment Management is seeking an experienced and customer-focused Leasing Agent to join the team at Laurel Park Apartments in St. Louis, Missouri. The ideal candidate will have prior multifamily leasing experience, with a strong preference for candidates who have worked in affordable housing, LIHTC, HUD, or other income-restricted housing programs. The Leasing Agent will support the Community Manager with leasing activities, resident relations, application processing, compliance documentation, and the overall day-to-day operation of the leasing office.

Requirements

  • Previous multifamily leasing experience required.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage a high volume of paperwork and deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong customer-service and resident-relations skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality when handling applicant and resident information.
  • Comfortable working with property management software, Microsoft Office, email, and online leasing systems.
  • Ability to work independently while also functioning effectively as part of an onsite team.
  • Knowledge of Fair Housing laws and regulations.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior multifamily leasing experience, with a strong preference for candidates who have worked in affordable housing, LIHTC, HUD, or other income-restricted housing programs.
  • Working knowledge of LIHTC, HUD, Section 8, income certifications, and/or affordable housing compliance is highly desirable.
  • Organized, dependable, professional, and detail-oriented, with the ability to balance leasing goals with the documentation and compliance requirements associated with affordable housing.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse resident population while maintaining accuracy, professionalism, and a strong sense of urgency.

Responsibilities

  • Greet prospective residents and provide professional tours of the community and available apartment homes.
  • Respond promptly to telephone, email, online, and walk-in leasing inquiries.
  • Process rental applications, obtain required documentation, and assist with applicant screening.
  • Assist with verifying household income, assets, and other eligibility documentation required for affordable housing programs.
  • Maintain accurate and organized applicant and resident files in accordance with company and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist with LIHTC, HUD, Section 8, and other affordable housing compliance documentation, as applicable to the property.
  • Prepare leases, addendums, move-in paperwork, and other required resident documentation.
  • Follow up with prospects and maintain accurate leasing traffic and availability records.
  • Assist residents with questions, concerns, work-order requests, and general property-related matters.
  • Support annual and interim recertification processes as needed.
  • Assist with delinquency notices, resident communications, and other administrative responsibilities.
  • Maintain a professional and welcoming leasing office and provide excellent customer service to residents, applicants, vendors, and visitors.
  • Follow Fair Housing requirements and all company policies and procedures.
  • Work closely with the Community Manager and maintenance team to support occupancy, resident retention, and overall property performance.
