About The Position

This is a part-time, onsite apartment manager position for a 25-unit building in Monterey Park, CA. The role is ideal for an experienced onsite manager seeking reduced rent and predictable work hours in a quiet neighborhood. The ideal candidate will be bilingual (English/Mandarin Chinese), organized, and reliable, with a passion for maintaining a clean and well-run community. The manager will work out of their own unit, as there is no dedicated office space. The position involves daily property walks, coordinating maintenance, communicating with residents, showing and leasing vacant units, processing applications, maintaining common areas, enforcing community rules, and working closely with the property management team. Experience with AppFolio is preferred.

Requirements

  • Bilingual communication skills (Mandarin Chinese is a plus, not required)
  • 2+ years of recent onsite apartment management experience (within the last 2 years)
  • Knowledge of Fair Housing laws
  • Strong communication & organization skills
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Office (AppFolio is a plus)
  • Reliable, professional, and self-managed
  • No pets

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual in Mandarin Chinese
  • Experience with AppFolio

Responsibilities

  • Daily property walks (cleanliness, safety, overall appearance)
  • Coordinate and report maintenance needs promptly
  • Communicate with residents (primarily in Spanish)
  • Show and lease vacant units
  • Process applications and rental agreements
  • Keep common areas clean and presentable
  • Enforce community rules and policies
  • Work closely with property management team
  • Maintain notes and updates in AppFolio (preferred)
