About The Position

Immanuel Christian Elementary School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic professional educator to join their team as a Learning Support and Grade 5 Teacher. This full-time, probationary position has an expected start date of August 25th, 2026. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting students from Kindergarten to Grade 5 as a Learning Support Teacher and will also teach Grade 5 students in English Language Arts and Literature, Bible, and PEW. The school offers a distinctively Christian program that integrates faith, learning, and service, challenging students to play an active role in God's story, while following the Alberta curriculum and meeting or exceeding all Alberta Education requirements. Requirements

Possess or be eligible to obtain an Alberta Teaching Certificate.
Submit a philosophy of Christian Education as part of the application.
Provide one reference for their current pastor.
Demonstrate a sound understanding of teaching context and contributing variables.
Demonstrate a deep understanding of subject disciplines taught and pedagogical approaches based on best practice.
Demonstrate an understanding of planning, assessment, and instructional practices.
Demonstrate an understanding of classroom management strategies that contribute to a positive learning environment.
Have a passion for supporting students in learning.
Be enthusiastic, flexible, and an energetic team player.
Have a commitment to strong collaboration, communication, and teamwork skills.
Have sound understanding of Inclusive Education practices.
Have an understanding of literacy and numeracy interventions.
Have the ability to develop a genuine relationship with students and a willingness to connect with families.
Have strong organizational and collaboration skills.
Have successful response to intervention (RTI) experience.
Have an understanding of Christian Education.
Have the ability to integrate the school's Christian mission and vision within the subject materials.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience teaching in an elementary school.
Previous experience as a Learning Support Teacher.
Has successfully worked with families and teachers to support and implement individualized support plans (ISPs) and behaviour support plans (BSPs) for students with complex learning and physical needs.

Responsibilities

Support students from Kindergarten to Grade 5 as a Learning Support Teacher.
Teach Grade 5 students in English Language Arts and Literature, Bible, and PEW.
