About The Position

As a Learning Specialist I (IT), you will play a pivotal role in empowering teammates across the Village by delivering engaging, high-impact training experiences and supporting the creation of dynamic instructional materials. This role blends virtual and in-person facilitation with instructional design fundamentals. You will partner closely with cross-functional IT and business teams to deliver training on proprietary software, enterprise tools, and new technical initiatives, ensuring our learners can seamlessly apply their skills on the job in an inclusive and collaborative environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Instructional Design, Communications, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent progressively responsible work experience substituted on a year-for-year basis).
  • 0 to 2+ years of experience in corporate training, facilitation, instructional support, or adult education.
  • Strong proficiency in virtual classroom platforms and collaboration tools (e.g., Microsoft Teams, Zoom).
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage diverse audiences and translate technical concepts into easily digestible steps.
  • Proven organizational skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple training sessions and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proactive problem-solving skills and willingness to learn new instructional design tools and technologies.
  • Ability to travel up to 10%.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with or administering Learning Management Systems (LMS) (e.g., StarLearning/Cornerstone, Workday Learning).
  • Familiarity with e-learning authoring and rapid design tools (e.g., Articulate 360 / Storyline / Rise, Camtasia).
  • Foundational understanding of adult learning theories and instructional design frameworks (e.g., ADDIE, SAM).
  • Certified Professional in Talent Development (CPTD) or Associate Professional in Talent Development (APTD) credential.
  • Technical Trainer/Instructional Designer

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate interactive, engaging training sessions and virtual learning experiences (vILT) for diverse learner groups across the organization.
  • Deliver training and direct user support on proprietary IT software, enterprise applications, and modern workplace tools, both remotely and in person.
  • Provide continuous support to learners, troubleshooting questions and reinforcing key training concepts.
  • Assist in Learning Management System (LMS) administration, including managing session rosters, attendance tracking, and completion reporting.
  • Support the design, development, and maintenance of modern training collateral, including e-learning modules, job aids, quick reference guides, and video tutorials.
  • Customize and adapt existing instructional materials to meet evolving learner needs while adhering to adult learning and instructional design principles.
  • Partner with cross-functional project teams, subject matter experts (SMEs), and L&D leaders to roll out new training initiatives, software releases, and curriculum updates.
  • Maintain training asset integrity and contribute to L&D process enhancements.
  • Participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned.
