About The Position

The Learning Services Receptionist will greet parents, teachers, and visitors with a positive and helpful attitude, assist them in navigating the office, and answer the switchboard in a friendly and helpful manner. This role is crucial for maintaining workplace security by managing badges and visitor logs, and requires the ability to handle numerous phone calls and requests courteously. The receptionist will also be responsible for accurately scheduling the building calendar for meetings and assisting administration with scheduling assessments and science labs.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • 1-3 years of receptionist experience preferred
  • Knowledge of Google Applications and word processing
  • Ability to perform all essential duties proficiently
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos.
  • Ability to compose and write grammatically correct correspondence and memos.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, schedule form, or blueprint form.

Responsibilities

  • Greet guests, parents, and students as they enter the main office.
  • Answer phone calls, take messages, and manage the building/district calendar.
  • Schedule conference rooms and assist administration with scheduling in-person conferences.
  • Assist administration and teachers with scheduling in-person assessments and science labs.
  • Provide general troubleshooting for issues such as resetting passwords, device connectivity, and navigating online portals.
  • Promote organizational effectiveness by performing tasks and sharing responsibilities of other department members during peak periods or when duties are overloaded.
  • Assist parents/guardians and students with questions pertaining to MDVA.
  • Maintain records, watchlists, attendance, and other documentation for virtual students.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by immediate supervisor or above.
  • Issue, check, and collect badges as necessary and maintain visitor logs to help maintain workplace security.
  • Handle numerous phone calls/requests while remaining friendly and courteous.
  • Accurately schedule the building calendar meetings.
