About The Position

To design, develop and deliver learning and development initiatives for new and existing employees. This role involves creating and executing a structured continuing education program, developing various types of courses, and contributing to career development programs. The specialist will also stay current on industry changes and perform administrative duties.

Requirements

  • Ability to clearly communicate to a wide variety of group sizes in both formal and informal settings.
  • Knowledge of modern principles and practices of adult education, curriculum development, and teaching and communication methods.
  • Knowledge of business English, spelling, grammar, composition, and arithmetic.
  • Knowledge of Credit Union rules, products, services, regulations, and procedures.
  • Knowledge of Credit Union philosophies, practices, policies, and interrelated functions.
  • Technical knowledge of computer software and hardware to conduct training.
  • Knowledge of compliance and regulatory issues for financial institutions.
  • Knowledge of standard sales and service techniques.
  • Ability to understand and follow complex written and oral instructions.
  • Ability to comprehend complex functions and procedures and to be able to disseminate that knowledge in a clear and understandable format to others.
  • Ability to express oneself, clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to prepare and maintain confidential records and reports.
  • Ability to gather, assemble, correlate, and analyze facts and develop solutions.
  • Ability to handle daily routine with moderate freedom to interpret and act upon various situations.
  • Ability to prioritize duties, handle multiple tasks, and produce a high volume of work in timely manner that is accurate and of high quality.
  • Job requires a four year college level of language, math and reasoning skills.
  • Some training or teaching experience, either at BHFCU or in another corporate setting.
  • High level of written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong proficiency in computer systems and technology.
  • Flexibility and high professional standards of personal appearance, conduct, judgment, and the highest level of confidentiality.

Responsibilities

  • Design and execute a structured continuing education program for all tellers, lenders, member service representatives and support staff.
  • Design, develop, and deliver in-person, self-paced, virtual, and e-learning courses on a wide range of topics including lending, member service, sales and service, culture, products and services, regulations, systems, and professional development.
  • Collaborate with management and the Learning & Performance team to plan and design regular training sessions and ensure meetings are recorded and broadcasted.
  • Produce and design training manuals, handouts, procedures, online resources, and supplemental training materials.
  • Contribute to the administration, implementation, and improvement of career development and staff advancement programs.
  • Remain current on changes within the regulatory, economic, technological, and competitive environments.
  • Continually develop and improve knowledge, skills, and ability in Learning & Performance.
  • Perform administrative duties such as database management, scheduling, filing and maintaining records, providing reports, updating internal and external websites, data entry, ordering supplies, and managing relationships with key business partners and vendors.
  • Perform other duties as may be assigned by Learning & Performance Manager.
