About The Position

Verde Capital Management (VCM) is seeking a Learning and Development Manager to join their team on-site in Clarkston, Michigan. This role is crucial for driving the growth and mastery of the wealth management team. Unlike traditional L&D roles, this position offers the opportunity to define the entire learning strategy and build the foundational "Playbook" for scaling the company. The Learning & Development Manager will be the architect of the employee and client experience, ensuring all team members are equipped to deliver financial excellence. This role owns the design, development, and execution of the learning strategy for both new and established team members, and is accountable for sustained performance, SEC compliance alignment, and the measurable impact of the training program.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years in L&D, preferably within Financial Services, Fintech, or a high-growth startup environment.
  • Proven experience in designing and executing all aspects of a training program.
  • Undergraduate degree required.
  • Must be able to work 100% in-person at our Clarkston, Michigan office.
  • Energized by a blank slate and prefer creating systems from scratch rather than maintaining legacy programs.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Prioritize efficiency and utilizing modern documentation tools.
  • Comfortable navigating compliance frameworks.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience with FINRA, SEC, or NASAA regulations is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Financial Advisors, Operations, and Client Experience teams to translate complex workflows into searchable, user-friendly digital playbooks.
  • Identify and launch the firm's "Source of Truth" platform to house SOPs, policies & procedures, and firm-wide intelligence.
  • Design, build, and maintain course content from scratch, including e-learning modules, facilitator guides, job aids, and assessments.
  • Design a "First 90 Days" onboarding journey that integrates new hires into the company culture, values, and tech stack.
  • Lead dual-track training covering technical software mastery (Salesforce, Black Diamond, Nitrogen, eMoney) and interpersonal leadership skills (client communication, empathy, and professional growth).
  • Independently assess organizational learning needs and develop a comprehensive annual L&D strategy and calendar.
  • Identify gaps in the current learning ecosystem and propose creative, scalable solutions.
  • Manage external training relationships, including selection, contracting, and evaluation of specialized resources.
  • Lead the development and delivery of training content that meets NASAA Investment Adviser Representative Continuing Education (IAR CE) requirements.
  • Ensure all training delivery and documentation strictly aligns with SEC and FINRA requirements.
  • Maintain meticulous, "exam-ready" records of training participation and policy acknowledgments.
