Learning Center Team Assistant
About The Position
The Learning Center Team Assistant supports the Snow Sports Teams Coordinator, coaches, and athletes during daytime and nighttime practices. The role helps set up and take down courses, assists with courses on race days, and maintains equipment and organized storage areas. The job requires advanced skiing or snowboarding ability, including carrying race gates and fencing on advanced slopes and safely using a lift while wearing skis or a snowboard. The position is seasonal, with a typical schedule of Friday evening, Saturday, and Sunday. Hours are 8:00 AM–2:00 PM on Friday evening, Saturday, and Sunday; extended hours may be required on race or event days. Pay is $13.00 per hour.
Requirements
- Advanced skiing or snowboarding ability.
- Ability to carry bundles of race gates and fencing up and down advanced slopes on skis or a snowboard.
- Ability to work outdoors in winter for up to 8 hours.
- Must be at least 16 years old.
- If over 18, additional responsibilities include operating a battery-operated power drill.
Nice To Haves
- Some ski or snowboard race experience.
Responsibilities
- Assist with organizing gear before and after practices, including bagging gates, attaching panels, setting up video-analysis monitors, checking B-net for wear, and reattaching or replacing poles.
- Set up, operate, and take down timing equipment for practices and races.
- Maintain radio communication regarding timing issues, movement-analysis groups, and equipment needs.
- Assist with slope-share and course setup and takedown.
- Work at the start and/or finish during practice.
- Assist with courses as needed on race days.
- Maintain equipment and keep storage areas organized.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
