COH Learning Assistant Level 1 (2026-2027 Pool)
About The Position
The College of Health is hiring undergraduate Learning Assistants to help deliver CORE Transitions, a course designed to engage students with practical skills, tools, and knowledge for success at OSU. Learning Assistants assist instructors in College of Health courses by facilitating student group work. Assignments and total working hours are dependent upon alignment with course schedules. All Learning Assistants attend a weekly preparatory meeting with the faculty leader of the course and work respectfully with students in the course to facilitate learning in lecture, recitation, and/or Ecampus settings.
Requirements
- Academically enrolled in a high school, community college, or university and pursuing a program or course of study.
- Meet Academic Standing Requirements; students on academic suspension are not eligible for employment.
- Meet the applicable minimal enrollment standard (High School student: Regularly enrolled in a high school or participating in a home-schooling program; Undergraduate and post-baccalaureate student: 6 credit hours per term; Undergraduate international student: 12 credit hours per term; Graduate student officially admitted to Graduate School: 5 credit hours per term; Graduate international student officially admitted to Graduate School: 9 credit hours per term).
- International students may be allowed to carry fewer hours than specified above and still be considered “full-time” by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). A reduced course load is approved by the Office of International Services (OIS), and must be provided to the Student Employment Center.
Responsibilities
- Facilitating student group work.
- Working with students in group learning settings with LA faculty present (i.e., classrooms, help sessions, office hours, online).
- Preparing for facilitation by meeting with course faculty, reviewing/completing course materials, training for being an LA (one-time orientation).
- Attending a weekly preparatory meeting with the faculty leader of the course.
- Working respectfully with students in the course to facilitate learning in lecture, recitation, and/or Ecampus settings.
