About The Position

The Learning & Development Specialist is responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and maintenance of the training program for direct care staff. This role will also assist in creating training programs for supervisors and management, ensuring the provision of high-quality services.

Requirements

  • Direct programmatic job knowledge is required.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in learning and development required.
  • Must have understanding, patience, and tact in dealing with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
  • Must have the ability to maintain good working relationships with an attitude of kindness with Evergreen staff and contacts from other agencies or entities.
  • Must have the ability and desire to function as part of a team, yet work with a high degree of independence.
  • Must have the ability to maintain a high degree of autonomy, accuracy, and integrity.
  • Must have excellent customer service skills.
  • Must have a good driving record that meets the minimum requirements for Evergreen and reliable transportation.
  • Must pass drug screen and criminal background check.
  • Must be able to work some evenings and weekends when required.

Nice To Haves

  • Working knowledge of Learning Management Systems is preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred.
  • Combination of education and field experience will be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Consult with managers and supervisors to assess training needs and develop curriculums to address those needs effectively.
  • Work closely with the Compliance Department to review outcome surveys, compliance audits, and identify specific training requirements.
  • Monitor, evaluate, and record training activities to measure program effectiveness.
  • Collect data on training outcomes and analyze results to identify areas for improvement and further development.
  • Assist the divisional Staff Training Coordinators as needed with questions, concerns, document retrieval, and mentoring.
  • Conduct site visits either in person or virtually to ensure consistent training delivery.
  • Develop and maintain training procedure manuals, guides, and course materials, including handouts and visual aids.
  • Create reports and documentation to measure training needs, progress, and results.
  • Engage with Staff Training Coordinators on an ongoing basis, using various communication tools, including email, video conferencing, and phone calls, to garner feedback on what is working and what needs to be improved.
  • Facilitate face-to-face and/or virtual interactions and ensure the smooth flow of information within the organization.
