About The Position

The Learning & Development (L&D) Manager – Field Operations plays a pivotal role in shaping and executing a forward-thinking learning strategy that supports the development of our field staff, the growth of our external network and community presence, and reinforces our culture of continuous improvement while our organization continues to grow. This role combines strategic leadership, collaboration, and hands-on execution. The L&D Manager-Field Operations partners with senior leaders, field staff and teams across the business to ensure learning is connected, cohesive, and aligned with both current needs and future ambitions. The role also oversees field learning and development operations, including creation and support of our learning systems, ensuring our infrastructure grows alongside our people.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 7–10 years of progressive experience in Learning & Development, Organizational Development, Education or Talent Management.
  • Proven success leading and developing high-performing individuals and teams.
  • Experience designing and scaling learning programs in an established, fast-paced organization.
  • Demonstrated expertise in budget management, vendor partnerships, and learning technologies.
  • Strong strategic thinking and consultative skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Deep understanding of business and learner needs, and the ability to translate them into strategic, impactful learning solutions.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills; able to think big picture while managing complex details and execution.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and continuous evolution of the organization’s field operations learning and development strategy, ensuring alignment with business goals and culture.
  • Create an educational based field development program to advance individuals joining or already participating in the electrical industry.
  • Translate company priorities into a comprehensive learning roadmap that strengthens capability and supports future growth.
  • Anticipate skill and leadership needs to proactively design scalable development programs.
  • Partner with senior leadership to embed learning into workforce planning, talent development, and performance strategies.
  • Establish, design, manage and maintain a high functioning training facility/shop space.
  • Partner with senior leaders, HR business partners, operations leaders, and cross-functional teams to assess learning needs and align initiatives with business objectives.
  • Build a network of internal and external contacts and experts to support the field development educational program and advancement of Hunt University.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor on leadership development, team effectiveness, and talent readiness.
  • Collaborate closely with teams to create an integrated people development experience.
  • Build strong, consultative relationships across all levels of the organization.
  • Oversee the creation and delivery of company-wide field operations learning programs, including leadership development, and functional skill building.
  • Support and advise team members and other internal stakeholders as they design and implement department-level learning initiatives.
  • Ensure learning experiences are inclusive, engaging, and aligned with organizational culture and goals.
  • Maintain consistency, scalability, and quality across all learning programs.
  • Help people get started in an electrical trades career.
  • Manage the L&D budget and allocate resources strategically to maximize business impact and ROI.
  • Identify, evaluate, and manage relationships with external vendors, facilitators, and learning technology providers.
  • Oversee contracts, negotiations, and vendor performance to ensure quality, efficiency, and alignment with organizational needs.
  • Support the ongoing use and optimization of the organization’s Learning Management System (LMS), Workday Learning and other software used in L&D.
  • Partner with LMS administrators and team members to ensure seamless learner experiences and accurate reporting.
  • Identify opportunities to leverage new learning technologies that enhance scale, engagement, and analytics.
  • Teach and lead young learners using the most current/relevant technologies.
  • Define and track success metrics to measure learning effectiveness and business impact.
  • Use data, feedback, and performance outcomes to continuously refine L&D programs.
  • Provide regular reports and insights to senior leadership on the value and outcomes of learning initiatives.
  • Stay informed on evolving L&D trends, best practices, and technologies to drive innovation within the function.
