This role involves supporting children ages 3-5, assisting with classroom supervision, providing personal care, and reinforcing skills taught by the teacher. The position also includes clerical duties related to student records and maintaining a safe, nurturing environment.

Requirements

  • Two or more years post high school education, with preference given to early child-centered studies and/or early childhood development expertise.
  • Previous work in an educational setting, childcare, or daycare.
  • CPR certification.
  • First Aid training.
  • Familiarity with various child development techniques.
  • Patience, flexibility, caring personality, punctuality, and dependability.
  • Experience with monitoring social and emotional development and behavior management.
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Maintains the confidentiality of students and their families.

Nice To Haves

  • Child Development Associates (CDA) credential preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide a healthy, safe, and nurturing environment for children ages 3-5.
  • Assist with the supervision of students in the classroom, on the playground, and during school outings.
  • Supervise children's play, ensuring their physical safety.
  • Provide personal care to students with daily living needs (e.g., toileting, feeding, physical management).
  • Provide review and practice of skills taught by a teacher with students 1:1 and in small groups.
  • Prepare instructional materials as directed/selected by Preschool Leader/Teacher.
  • Acknowledge and respond to different developmental and behavioral levels exhibited by children.
  • Provide clerical assistance to maintaining student records (charting, assignments, attendance, data for progress notes).
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
