The Learner Success Coach's primary objective is to deliver an overall learning experience that enables learners to successfully complete their learning program, meet their potential, and achieve their career aims. This involves operating efficiently, innovating with business partners for organizational confidence, value for money, and excellence in teaching, learning, and assessment. The role also focuses on delivering solutions to address industry skills gaps for mid-career and new industry entrant learners, working with Decoded SMEs to provide tailored and individualized learning plans.

Requirements

  • Proven previous involvement in and experience of apprenticeship delivery
  • A detailed understanding of the UK’s Further Education sector, including Apprenticeships
  • Experience of dealing with ESFA and other relevant education regulators
  • Experience of Apprenticeship delivery platforms, ideally including Bud
  • Experience in or a good understanding of the technology sector
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Work to deadlines/targets
  • A background/knowledge in data analysis
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Project management and organisational skills
  • Proven ability to work with own initiative
  • Working knowledge and experience in database software and management systems
  • Level 2 literacy, numeracy, and ICT skills

  • Level 3 vocational qualification (of evidence of occupational competence).

Responsibilities

  • Deliver an overall learning experience that enables learners to successfully complete their learning programme, and to meet their potential and career aims.
  • Operate efficiently, constantly innovating with our business partners to achieve organisational confidence, value for money and excellence in teaching, learning and assessment.
  • Deliver solutions to address industry skills gaps for mid-career and new industry entrant learners, working with Decoded SMEs to provide a tailored and individualised learning plan.
  • Ensure the achievement and timely progress of learners through training, support and assessment practises.
  • Utilize working knowledge and experience in data to support learners in implementing the knowledge they have learnt in their day-to-day roles.
  • Develop the abilities, knowledge, skill, behaviours and confidence of each learner working towards level 3 and level 4 qualifications.
  • Work with SMEs to provide an individualised learning approach in relation to sector standards, levels 3 & 4.
  • Support learners’ ability to work confidently, effectively and independently in life and work as part of the apprenticeship programme.
  • Train, support, coach and mentor apprentices in relation to the wider apprenticeship curriculum (Functional skills and embedded maths and English, British Values, Prevent and Equality & Diversity).
  • Develop and update individual learning plans to demonstrate learner progression, ensuring critical milestones are planned and met.
  • Maintain accurate records of individual learner progress, coordinating the planning of and signing off on learning activities and assessment decisions, and actioning IQA feedback in BUD/Canvas.
  • Achieve company and individual KPIs.
  • Work with IQAs and attend internal training and standardisation activities.
  • Ensure compliance with Ofsted, ESFA, partners, and other authorities with respect to policy and all procedures associated with teaching, learning and assessment.
  • Establish and maintain effective partnerships with employers and learners that promote the achievement of learners’ qualifications within agreed timescales.
  • Establish a safe working environment for learners, in relation to safeguarding, Prevent, e-safety and wellbeing.
  • Manage own continual professional development (CPD) to ensure currency in Data Analysis methodologies and products.
  • Develop highly effective relationships with your team and the wider organisation.
  • Encompass the Decoded values of integrity, simplicity, excellence and fun.
  • Create tailored individual learning plans for learners that fully support the agreed-upon timescales for achievement.
  • Support SEND and adapt assessment, teaching and learning to support individuals' needs.
  • Assess learners' work against competencies and give constructive feedback on gap analysis and next steps.
  • Assess against awarding organisation, End Point Assessment and Ofsted/CIF criteria.
  • Monitor SPAG and liaise with the Functional Skills team when required.
  • Ensure efficient diary management so that you effectively support your caseload of learners from start to finish of the apprenticeship in line with your individual KPIs.
  • Regularly quality check and maintain OTJ training records and ensure they formulate a complete record of a minimum 20% of apprentices' paid hours.
  • Contribute to the overall team performance by way of suggestions and recommendations to enhance the quality of delivery and learner experience.
  • Work collaboratively with all parties using verbal and well-written reports to ensure accurate and timely performance reporting.
  • Participate fully in all Quality & Compliance Policy procedures, activities and training.
  • Attend required standardisation activities and regular meeting participation.
  • Ensure that safe working practices are followed.
  • Comply with and promote Health and Safety Policy and take appropriate responsibility to ensure the health and safety of self and others.
  • Understand, comply with and promote the company’s Safeguarding Policy and Procedures.
  • Understand, comply with and promote the company’s Equality Policy and procedures.
  • Establish and maintain excellent working relationships with learners and employers.
  • Ensure learners are involved in the decision-making process, either as individuals, through reviews, learner forums, and/or surveys.
  • Demonstrate a proactive approach to minimising any barriers to your learners by implementing additional support (IAG) in a manner that promotes timely achievement.
  • Manage your own continuous professional development.
  • Plan your working day around the best outcomes for success, identifying and prioritising projects against business needs.
