About The Position

Come work at the new state of the art facility and be part of the excitement. We are seeking skating instructors to teach classes for our Learn to Skate and/or Learn-to-Play-Hockey classes. Children will range in age from two to adult. Skill levels will range from first-time skaters to advanced curriculum levels. This position will be responsible for teaching the students how to skate/play, while following all rules and policies as set forth by the Park District and Director of Skating / Hockey Director.

Requirements

• This position requires a background in skating and/or hockey and a comfort on the ice as it relates to skating and hockey-specific skills.
• Must have an approved coaching certification or be able to acquire it within 6 months of hire.
• Must be CPR/AED and first-aid certified or have the ability to become certified (through our district) within 90 days of employment.
• Individual must be at least 16 years of age.
• Must have a working knowledge of school age children’s developmental stages and behavioral techniques, as well as Oakton’s skating developmental techniques or the ability and willingness to learn.
