  • Ability to interpret sketches, simple drawings, and conceptual ideas.
  • Creative problem-solving skills and a bias for action and experimentation.
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced, iterative environment with minimal supervision.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in manufacturing, maintenance, or technical trades.
  • Familiarity with Lean principles such as 5S, waste elimination, flow, and ergonomics.

Responsibilities

  • Build low-cost, rapid prototypes using available materials to support Lean improvements, ergonomic enhancements, and equipment modifications.
  • Translate conceptual ideas from Kaizen teams into functional mockups for evaluation and iteration.
  • Support 3P events by constructing models, fixtures, layout mockups, and process simulations.
  • Collaborate with the Lean Technical Specialist to ensure prototypes align with Lean principles, safety standards, and operational requirements.
  • Conduct try storming (rapid experimentation) to validate concepts before full-scale implementation.
  • Maintain the moonshine shop, including tools, materials, safety protocols, and documentation.
  • Provide hands-on support during Kaizen events, Gemba walks, and problem-solving activities.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and contribute creative, practical solutions.
