Hypertherm Associates is seeking an experienced, energetic Lean Six Sigma Black Belt to lead change and advance a strong continuous improvement culture on their Corporate Improvement Team in Kent, WA. Lean Six Sigma Black Belts at Hypertherm Associates serve as hands-on change leaders, working across the enterprise to lead and integrate Lean and Six Sigma practices that drive meaningful, measurable results. In this role, you will serve as a strategic change agent.

Requirements

  • Certified and practicing Lean Six Sigma Black Belt with typically 5–10 years of applied experience leading complex, cross‑functional improvement initiatives, or equivalent experience demonstrated through accelerated roles, project leadership, or comparable scope of responsibility
  • Proven track record leading Lean and Six Sigma initiatives that deliver real, sustained, and measurable business results
  • Experience operating in a business process leadership role, engineering, operations, or a comparable environment with significant organizational complexity
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, including applied statistics, with the ability to translate data and information into decisions and action
  • A high‑energy leader of change who is comfortable challenging the status quo and influencing without authority
  • Skilled facilitator with experience leading kaizen events and/or delivering formal or informal training
  • Strong project management capabilities, including risk management and stakeholder communication
  • Deep interest in professional growth and organizational development
  • Motivation to step into visible leadership roles and influence enterprise‑wide change

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a technical, manufacturing, or industrial environment
  • Project planning or project management certification
  • Experience designing and delivering adult learning or training programs

Responsibilities

  • Act as a change agent, leading cross functional and cross regional teams through Lean and Six Sigma improvement projects
  • Apply structured problem-solving, data driven decision making, and project management disciplines to deliver and sustain significant business results
  • Ensure clear, consistent communication of project purpose, progress, risks, and outcomes to sponsors and stakeholders
  • Design, deliver, and continuously improve Lean and Six Sigma training to grow improvement capability across the organization
  • Coach and mentor associates at all levels on Lean principles, Structured Problem Solving, Six Sigma methodologies, and improvement tools
  • Support and develop Yellow, Green and Black Belts through hands-on project coaching and certification mentoring
  • Facilitate kaizen events and improvement workshops, supporting sponsors and leaders with chartering, preparation, execution, and sustainment
  • Guide teams in establishing clear objectives and shared commitment through collaborative, consensus driven facilitation
  • Apply structured improvement tools such as value stream and process mapping, root cause analysis, waste identification/elimination, 5S/visual workplace, 5 whys, etc. to enable breakthrough improvements
  • Report regularly to project sponsors and steering teams on progress, outcomes, and lessons learned
  • Define and track meaningful metrics that establish the current state baseline, demonstrate project impact and quantify value and impact of the change to the business
