About The Position

The VIE Program of Faurecia is an international young graduate program, which enables young graduate’s native from the European Economic Area (EU + Norway, Liechtenstein, and Iceland) aged between 18 and 28 to work for one of our subsidiaries around the world! Business France, the French agency for international business development, oversees all the administrative procedures of your assignment. Your position and environment? Our Faurecia Interior Systems (FIS) plant in Blue Springs, Missouri (North America) is looking for you as a VIE Lean Manufacturing Engineer. The role of the Lean Manufacturing Engineer is to maximize plant performance and profitability with accountability on direct labor by strict application of the FES (Faurecia Excellence System) operating principles.

Responsibilities

  • Develop in coordination with the management team the site and department Annual Improvement/FES Acceleration Plans.
  • Participate in Plant MOD cost budget construction and achievement, through efficient “MOD cost management” and “MOD cost improvement plan”.
  • Follow-up of the FES deployment plan, to support the Plant Improvement Plan (PIP) execution.
  • Ensure understanding at plant level of FES KPIs and the link with P&L results to properly prioritize the FES plan.
  • Contribute to the application and/respect of FES Principles in Programs from design stage (lean process design, MIFD, validation of Equipment design, cardboard workshop activities, Standardized Work, OHP, process layout, packaging, etc.).
  • Support Standardized Work construction and adherence, development of OHP (primarily GAP Leader and Supervisor role and routines), as the main foundations to achieve high levels of operational performance.
  • Support the implementation of FES improvement tools for production reliability, change over Standards (flexibility), reduction of Line stoppages, Line balancing, and overall MOD efficiency.
  • Support the FES&P Manager in the application of the FES methodologies and tools through active participation on the shop floor.
  • Transfer FES knowledge and experience to plant personnel through shop floor improvement activities.
  • Drive teamwork and problem-solving activities, lead Production Solving Groups nd workshops (5S, Hoshin, TPM, SMED, 8 Quality Basics, Improvement Ideas, HSE, etc.).
  • Contribute to the lead time reduction through the implementation of continuous flow, layout optimization, pull-system and speed up flows by coaching and/or leading FES/Lean principles workshops.
  • Ensure the respect of safety instructions, policies, and procedures.
  • Support commitments established in the ISO 14001 Environmental Policy.
