About The Position

CP Industries, a manufacturer of high-pressure steel cylinders and vessels, is seeking a Lean Coordinator to lead their continuous improvement efforts. This role is based in McKeesport, PA, and focuses on enhancing operational excellence within industrial, defense, and commercial applications. The Lean Coordinator will be instrumental in driving improvements in safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and cost by owning the Lean program and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Industrial Technology, Business, or a related field preferred
  • 5+ years of manufacturing or continuous improvement experience, or an equivalent combination
  • Proven track record leading Lean manufacturing initiatives with measurable results
  • Hands-on expertise with Lean tools: 5S, Kaizen, VSM, standard work, visual management, and root cause analysis
  • Strong communicator and influencer - able to engage and align people at all levels
  • Data-driven problem solver who can turn analysis into action
  • Organized and effective at managing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)

Nice To Haves

  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification preferred
  • Background in heavy manufacturing, machining, welding, fabrication, or assembly a plus
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001, ASME, or military quality standards a plus

Responsibilities

  • Lead Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives across the facility
  • Facilitate Kaizen events, 5S activities, value stream mapping, and root cause analysis sessions
  • Analyze production data and process flows to identify bottlenecks and improvement opportunities
  • Develop, document, and implement standard work procedures with cross-functional teams
  • Coach and train employees, supervisors, and managers on Lean principles and tools
  • Monitor and report KPIs related to safety, quality, delivery, cost, and productivity
  • Support facility layout improvements, workflow optimization, and visual management systems
  • Track and communicate project progress and outcomes to management
  • Champion a culture of accountability, teamwork, and operational excellence
