About The Position

As the 2nd Shift Floor Lead with no direct reports, you will be instrumental in overseeing and coordinating daily operations on the manufacturing floor, ensuring optimal efficiency, safety, and quality in the production process. This role requires hands-on involvement in manufacturing processes, such as the production of machinery, equipment, or other industrial products. Enthusiastically support company policy, retention and onboarding practices as defined by Human Resources and strategic company long term goals.

Requirements

  • 2-5 years of experience working in a manufacturing environment
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to read tape measure
  • Proven problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail and excellent analytical skills
  • Ability to train and teach others while being productive to the team
  • Team Oriented

Responsibilities

  • Lead and guide all employees in all departments throughout the shift, providing direction, support, and instruction during shift handoffs.
  • Assist all employees in their areas with problem solving and make sure that they have all the necessary resources to complete work tasks.
  • Alert the Plant Manager, Production Manager or Production Supervisor to any problems adversely affecting the ability to complete scheduled work order assignments.
  • Answer questions about quality or find the answer the person is looking for.
  • Alert Quality of any problems that adversely affect the final product.
  • Coordinate with Quality Assurance on the improvement of our processes and improvement in the overall quality of our product.
  • Professional and enthusiastic enforcement of Company Personnel, Safety, and Quality policies and documents.
  • In accord with the Safety Committee, ensures the personnel follow Federal, State, and Company safety and environmental regulations and policies.
  • Ensure all personnel have the proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and are appropriately wearing them.
  • Collaborate with team members to optimize production processes and workflow.
  • Support, encourage, and mentor team members to foster a positive and productive work environment.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Demonstrate regular attendance and punctuality; set a professional example for the team.
  • Participate in and support continuous improvement programs, HR initiatives, and other company programs.
  • Other duties as assigned.
