Requirements

  • Five (5) years of experience managing dirt crews on highway projects.
  • Lift, push, or pull and move up to seventy (70) pounds.
  • Climb, kneel, twist, and bend in various environments.
  • Manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items and work with the fingers.
  • Demonstrated experience in utility work supervision to include gravity sewer, sewer force main, storm drain and waterline (NNWW preferably).
  • Be able to communicate in English via verbal and written communications.
  • Valid driver license for occasional, required travel.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with abstract and concrete variables.
  • Ability to physically maneuver by foot minor obstacles at construction projects.
  • Work outdoors with exposure to changing weather conditions such as rain, sun, snow, and wind.
  • The employee in this job must be knowledgeable about and follow the company’s safety policies and procedures as described in the company’s safety manual.
  • Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers.
  • Ability to print and speak simple sentences.
  • Minimum 0-3 years of related construction experience preferred.
  • Heavy physical activity performing strenuous day activities of a primarily productive/technical nature.
  • Manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items and work with the fingers.
  • Able to perceive attributes of objects and materials.
  • Outdoor exposure to changing weather conditions (rain, sun, snow, wind, etc.).
  • The employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions, extreme cold, and extreme heat.
  • The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; and high and/ or precarious places.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
  • Candidates must be legally eligible to work in the United States of America to qualify for employment with the Company.
  • Candidates who are identified and selected for a position are required to complete and pass a drug screen to be considered for employment with Webber.
  • Candidates who are identified and selected for a field position are required to complete and pass a medical exam to ensure physical and/or mental capacity to complete the tasks required by the job.
  • Some positions require completion of a background check, which may include Employment History Verification, County and Federal Searches for felonies and misdemeanors, SSN Address Trace, and/or National Criminal/Sex and Violent Offender Search.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and assist skilled craft workers in performing their assigned duties under close supervision.
  • Manage field crew in day-to-day production of projects.
  • Exhibit a high level of safety consciousness and a clear understanding of equipment safety.
  • Order tools and equipment.
  • Interpret blueprints/plans and construct accordingly.
  • Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
  • Provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skill.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Comply with all safety policies, practices, and procedures.
  • Report all unsafe activities to the supervisor and/or Human Resources.
  • Responsibilities to include but not limited to everyday operations for pipe installation from approved plans, planning and procuring materials for work, coordinating staff, working with owner representatives, and implementing a safe workplace.
