About The Position

Google’s Technical Program Managers lead complex, multidisciplinary engineering projects, using engineering expertise to plan requirements with internal customers and guide projects through their lifecycle. This includes managing schedules, identifying risks, and communicating clearly with stakeholders, executives, and engineers about analyses, recommendations, and technical trade-offs. In this role, you will serve as the Strategic Lead for the Configuration, Lifecycle, Engineering and Asset Reliability team within Data Center Operations. You will lead a multidisciplinary team of Technical Program Managers and Reliability Engineers in the Operations Engineering pillar, owning global strategy and execution across Asset Management Reliability Engineering and Operational Sustainability and OT Configuration Management. You will manage a growing team that includes a Staff TPM for condition-based maintenance, an Equipment Reliability Engineer focused on life data analysis, and Fleet Health/CLEAR TPMs. You will serve as the primary operational bridge between upstream engineering groups and downstream execution partners, and guide special projects to mitigate current and future operational risks. The role aims to reduce end-to-end lifecycle impact and operational demands on local site operations teams while supporting global scale. Google’s Technical Infrastructure team develops and maintains data centers and platforms that support Google’s products and services.

  • 8 years of experience in technical program management, reliability engineering, or critical facilities operations.
  • 5 years of experience in people management or leading engineering teams.
  • Experience with asset reliability, maintenance engineering, or industrial control systems.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in hyperscale data centers, power utilities, or 24x7 mission-critical facilities.
  • Experience with reliability methodologies such as RCM, CBM, FMEA, or Weibull analysis, or enterprise maintenance systems such as CMMS or Maximo.
  • Experience with operational technology and facility control systems such as SCADA, BMS, EPMS, PLC, or alarm management.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and grow a distributed team of technical program managers and engineers driving asset reliability, configuration management, and lifecycle engineering across mission-critical facilities.
  • Establish standardized governance frameworks for industrial equipment configuration, change management, and end-to-end hardware asset lifecycle across global data center operations.
  • Translate executive infrastructure and security priorities into scalable operational roadmaps, acting as a catalyst multiplier for regional operations and engineering teams.
  • Partner cross-functionally with mechanical, electrical, and network security engineering leaders to identify operational risks, resolve reliability bottlenecks, and improve facility uptime.
  • Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure asset health, program execution, and continuous improvement across large-scale industrial environments.
