About The Position

BASIS Goodyear is seeking transitioning military members for its Leadership & Teaching Rotational Program through DoD SkillBridge. Participants gain an understanding of the educational industry by working alongside school leaders and supporting teachers in classrooms. The program includes 6–8 weeks of school leadership training, followed by 8–10 weeks of teacher training. Participants may also support Senior Capstone Projects, coach sports, or lead clubs.

Requirements

• Be a transitioning military member within the last 180 days of service.
• Have served at least 180 days on active duty.
• Have taken a service TAPS/TGPS.
• Have attended or participated in an ethics brief within the last 12 months.
• Have received Unit Commander approval to participate in the DoD SkillBridge Program.
• Anticipate receiving an honorable discharge from active military service.
• Have an IVP clearance card or be able to obtain one before the start date.
• Hold a bachelor's degree from an accredited university.

Responsibilities

• Work alongside the BASIS Goodyear leadership team during the 6–8-week school leadership training rotation.
• Support classroom teachers in their day-to-day functions during the 8–10-week teacher training rotation.
• Learn classroom management, lesson planning, grading, and other skills needed to be a successful BASIS teacher.
• Support Senior Capstone Projects.
• Help coach sports or lead clubs.
