About The Position

Dollarama is seeking a strategic and operational AI leader to lead its AI Center of Excellence and foster the responsible adoption of artificial intelligence across the enterprise. Reporting to the VP of IT, this role is responsible for defining the organization's AI vision, overseeing a portfolio of AI initiatives, and ensuring that solutions deliver measurable business value while adhering to governance, ethics, privacy, and risk management standards. The ideal candidate combines deep expertise in AI, machine learning, data science, MLOps, and AI governance with the leadership skills necessary to influence senior stakeholders and deploy AI capabilities at scale across retail operations, administrative functions, supply chain, merchandising, and corporate functions. This individual will serve as the internal AI authority, helping to translate strategy into concrete, high-impact execution.

Requirements

• Extensive leadership experience in AI, data, or advanced analytics, with a strong track record of building teams and delivering solutions at an organizational scale.
• Bachelor's degree required.
• Advanced training in AI, computer science, data science, mathematics, engineering, or a related field is an asset.
• Expertise in modern AI techniques such as generative AI, large language models, retrieval-augmented generation, and prompt engineering.
• Solid understanding of enterprise data platforms, AI engineering, and MLOps practices.
• Strategic thinking, sound judgment, budget and portfolio management skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences in French and English.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in retail, consumer goods, supply chain, or similar complex operational environments is highly desired.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the AI Center of Excellence as a central point for AI strategy, standards, reusable assets, and delivery practices.
• Build and mentor a multidisciplinary team covering data science, ML engineering, MLOps, and AI governance.
• Define the company's AI roadmap and prioritize initiatives based on strategic alignment, feasibility, and business value.
• Oversee the entire AI delivery cycle, from opportunity identification and business justification to deployment, monitoring, and adoption.
• Advise senior management and the AI steering committee on investments, priorities, risks, and emerging opportunities.
• Establish governance for responsible AI, including model risk management, data protection, security, bias mitigation, human oversight, and compliance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to identify high-impact use cases and foster their enterprise-wide deployment.
• Promote AI adoption and develop AI skills among business users.
• Represent the organization with partners, vendors, and the AI ecosystem.
