About The Position

At The Goddard School, we believe early childhood education should be filled with curiosity, connection, and joy. We are seeking an experienced, passionate Lead Preschool Teacher who is ready to take ownership of a classroom, lead with heart, and help shape a school culture where children—and teachers—thrive. This is more than a teaching role. It is a leadership opportunity for an educator who loves building meaningful relationships, guiding young learners through discovery, and mentoring others along the way. Our classrooms are guided by our proprietary Wonder of Learning™ curriculum, rooted in inquiry-based, play-driven experiences that spark imagination and support whole-child development.

Requirements

  • CDA (Child Development Associate) credential required
  • Experience working with children ages 3–5 in a preschool or early childhood setting
  • Strong understanding of early childhood development and best practices
  • Confident classroom leader with positive behavior guidance skills
  • Warm, friendly, nurturing personality with a genuine passion for early learning
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to create a positive, engaging, and structured classroom environment

Nice To Haves

  • Candidates currently working toward CDA completion may be considered
  • CPR/First Aid certification is not required at time of hire (training and certification provided by The Goddard School)

Responsibilities

  • Lead a preschool classroom with confidence, creativity, and care
  • Design and implement engaging, developmentally appropriate learning experiences
  • Guide children through hands-on, inquiry-based discovery and play
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with families through ongoing communication
  • Observe, document, and support each child’s developmental growth
  • Create a warm, structured environment where children feel safe, seen, and excited to learn
  • Mentor and support assistant teachers within your classroom team
  • Partner with leadership to continuously elevate classroom quality
