About The Position

The Lead Writer and Editor will provide support for Arts and Humanities faculty in the College of Arts and Sciences—as well as larger groups such as centers—in the areas of grant funding and editorial projects. The Lead Writer and Editor will focus primarily on large, collaborative , and/or federal and foundation grants (such as NEA, NEH, Luce, Mellon Foundation, or Doris Duke Foundation). The Lead Writer and Editor will serve primarily as an editor to coalesce and shape copy into cohesive and impactful grant narratives. The Lead Writer and Editor will also work with Arts and Humanities faculty and staff to reframe or recast projects and be called upon to advise on funding strategies from both the public and private sectors. In addition, the Lead Writer and Editor will organize and lead workshops and/or coaching sessions on grant writing for Arts and Humanities faculty and graduate students, on a schedule to be determined. The position could also encompass special editorial projects outside of the grant realm (such as the Arts and Humanities portions of Arts and Sciences’ 15th anniversary materials). Tasks will be planned in conjunction with the supervisor to ensure that the timing and scale of projects does not exceed the expected number of hours per week.
