Pay $32.00 hr Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Lead Welder to oversee welding operations in our sheet metal fabrication department. The ideal candidate is a skilled welder with strong leadership abilities who can ensure high-quality workmanship, maintain production schedules, and promote a safe and efficient work environment. This position requires hands-on welding, mentoring team members, and coordinating daily workflow to meet customer and quality requirements.

Requirements

  • 5+ years’ welding experience.
  • 2+ years’ leadership experience.
  • Proficiency in MIG and TIG welding.
  • Blueprint reading.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds and stand extended periods.
  • Experience welding both stainless steel and carbon steel sheet metal from 7gauge -18 gauge.

Nice To Haves

  • AWS certification.
  • Lean manufacturing knowledge.
  • Forklift/overhead crane experience.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise daily welding operations in a sheet metal fabrication environment.
  • Assign work, monitor productivity, and ensure production schedules are met.
  • Perform MIG, TIG, and other welding processes on carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work orders.
  • Inspect welds for quality, accuracy, and compliance with company and customer specifications.
  • Train, mentor, and evaluate welders and fabrication personnel.
  • Troubleshoot welding and fabrication issues to minimize downtime.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety policies.
  • Coordinate with engineering, quality, and production departments.
  • Monitor equipment performance and coordinate maintenance and repairs.
  • Maintain production records and quality documentation.
  • Promote continuous improvement.
