About The Position

Axiom Staffing is recruiting for a high-volume metal fabrication facility with openings for multi-skilled individuals with prior experience. We offer 1st shift, 5:30am - 3:30pm, Monday - Thursday, and (if approved by the Supervisor) OT on Friday from 5:30am - 10:30am. MIG welding on steel/aluminum is required. TIG experience needed. Candidate will be responsible for weld preparation, welding and weld finishing on various gauges of metal according to mechanical drawings, specifications or other forms of instruction.

Requirements

• MIG welding on steel/aluminum
• TIG experience
• Ability to understand drawings and specifications
• Knowledge and experience working with various welding and finishing equipment
• Ability to work with a wide range of gauges of metal
• Work in cooperation with other welders and team members

Nice To Haves

• 2 - 5 years experience

Responsibilities

• Interpret drawings and specifications, including weld requirement symbology
• Perform light and heavy arc and gas welding on items such as frames, racks, metal casings, trucks, skids, low pressure tanks, welding and brazing of dies, etc. using welding machines and acetylene welding equipment
• Perform grinding operations using manual and power tools
• Maintain welding equipment through regular welding equipment maintenance
• Communicate with the team and Plant Manager
• Filter questions and issues within the team
• Work with the students in our Co-Op Program
• Check on parts/jobs to make sure they are done with accuracy
