About The Position

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Welder/Fabricator Lead to join our team and drive excellence in metal fabrication and welding operations. In this role, you will oversee daily fabrication activities, lead a team of skilled welders and fabricators, and ensure all work adheres to safety standards and quality specifications. Your expertise will help us deliver high-quality metal structures and components that meet project deadlines and client expectations. Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent required
  • Strong mechanical ability
  • Employee is responsible for planning and carrying out tasks or work on projects independently up to final review and decisions.
  • May direct the work of other others to fabricate and assemble products by using drawings, sketches, and verbal direction

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily fabrication activities
  • Lead a team of skilled welders and fabricators
  • Ensure all work adheres to safety standards and quality specifications
  • Deliver high-quality metal structures and components that meet project deadlines and client expectations
  • Hand and power tool mastery
  • Be proficient in wielding processes necessary for SCI manufacturing; read electrical prints & layouts, read piping prints (two-lined & isometric); read mechanical prints; read and understand suppliers’ instructions
  • Fabricate and assemble products by using drawings, sketches, and verbal direction
  • Be proficient in some forms of process and tack wielding; basic electrical skills including lay out and mount conduit and pull & terminate wire; lay out, cut & thread, and mount piping systems; set and align motors, pumps, other mechanical components etc.; lay out, set, level & align furnace drive systems.
  • Use overhead cranes and fork trucks to set up and/or move equipment
  • Assist in loading and unloading equipment
  • Perform jobsite installations as part of a field team and as a team leader
  • Assist in the training of less skilled or less experienced mechanics as directed by plant management
  • Perform other duties and functions as required.
