About The Position

Penske Logistics is seeking a safety-conscious, outgoing warehouse associate to support and provide some supervision for regular and temporary warehouse associate functions. The Lead Warehouse Worker works closely with Operations Supervisors to help meet employee productivity expectations and performs a variety of warehouse responsibilities as assigned. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM. Compensation is $23.50 per hour. The position is designated safety-sensitive and requires working alertly and safely, including taking responsibility for personal safety and the safety of others. The role may be performed in non-climate-controlled conditions.

Requirements

At least 4 years of warehouse experience.
Ability to learn and use proprietary software.
Ability to work in non-climate-controlled conditions.
Required skills include leading a small team, working independently, customer service, dealing with others, multitasking, organization, flexibility, working with numbers, time management, and execution.
Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function.
Willingness to travel as necessary and work the required schedule and at the specified location.
Must complete a Penske employment application and submit to a background investigation, including past employment, education, and criminal history, and drug screening.
Must be able to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner, and accept responsibility for personal safety and the safety of others.
Must be able to remember and understand instructions, guidelines, and other information; see and verbally communicate; and hear, understand, and distinguish speech and other sounds.
Vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and adjusting focus.
Must frequently move, stand, walk, and sit; frequently use hands to touch, handle, and feel; and reach with hands and arms.
Must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.

Nice To Haves

2 years of inventory or materials management experience.
2 years of supervisory experience.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Prior forklift certification.
Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
Flexibility to work overtime.

Responsibilities

Stage and sort products for loading.
Load and unload trailers.
Provide process and project visibility to the Operations Supervisor.
Demonstrate expertise in warehouse functions.
Lead and comply with safety and well-being efforts on the assigned shift.
Maintain a clean and safe work area.
Sort and place parts in racks or other designated areas.
Move materials within the warehouse.
Perform quality control.
Complete daily logs.
Communicate with associates from other shifts.
Maintain inventory records.
Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse mechanical equipment where applicable.
Support and provide some supervision to regular and temporary warehouse associates.
Perform other projects and tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
