About The Position

MarinHealth is seeking a Lead Vascular Tech to serve as the senior clinical and operational lead for its vascular laboratory while maintaining an active direct-patient-care assignment and expert competency in noninvasive diagnostic vascular ultrasound. The role provides day-to-day functional direction to vascular technologists across assigned sites and supports consistent clinical practice, patient safety, quality, service, workflow, staff competency, accreditation readiness, and efficient use of resources. The Lead is the primary technical resource for complex studies and operational issues and partners with department leadership and the Medical Director to implement approved standards and improvements. This is a lead-worker position with routine operational judgment limited to delegated authority; it does not independently make specified employment or formal performance-management decisions unless authorized by organizational policy. The position performs the essential clinical duties of a Vascular Technologist, coordinates daily assignments and cross-site coverage, supports orientation and competency development, monitors clinical and safety standards, and leads or coordinates accreditation readiness and quality-improvement work. It also supports equipment and reporting systems, operational projects, communication across clinical and administrative teams, and routine day-to-day departmental matters within documented delegated authority. The role maintains a regular clinical assignment and may provide coverage at assigned sites based on patient-care and operational needs. The posted compensation range is $59.89–$89.83. The schedule is 40 hours per week on a 10-hour day shift. MarinHealth requires measles, mumps, varicella, and annual influenza immunizations as a condition of employment; COVID-19 vaccination/booster is strongly recommended, with medical or religious exemptions considered consistent with applicable law.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in a related health-science field or successful completion of an accredited/certified diagnostic medical sonography program; an equivalent pathway accepted by the organization may qualify when consistent with credentialing requirements.
  • Ongoing education sufficient to maintain required professional credentials and competency.
  • Minimum five years of progressively responsible vascular ultrasound experience.
  • Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) credential through ARDMS required at time of hire; maintain all required credentials, continuing education, and organization-required competencies throughout employment.
  • Expert knowledge of vascular anatomy, hemodynamics, vascular disease, diagnostic testing protocols, image optimization, and recognized vascular-laboratory quality standards.
  • Demonstrated advanced competency in the range of vascular examinations performed by the department, including complex, urgent, and technically challenging studies.
  • Ability to coordinate daily assignments, urgent add-ons, breaks, patient-flow priorities, and cross-site coverage within established staffing plans and policies.
  • Ability to coach, precept, assess technical competency, provide timely behavior- and standard-based feedback, and escalate unresolved competency or conduct concerns to management.
  • Sound clinical and operational judgment, including the ability to distinguish decisions within delegated authority from matters requiring management or Medical Director review.
  • Strong communication, conflict-resolution, organization, prioritization, and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to interpret quality data, identify trends or variances, document follow-up, and support corrective or performance-improvement actions.
  • Working proficiency with vascular ultrasound equipment, electronic medical records, vascular reporting applications, and routine office/communication technology.
  • Comply with required measles, mumps, varicella, and annual influenza immunizations, subject to applicable exemptions.
