About The Position

Frima is looking for a Lead Unreal Programmer to manage a team on one of our mobile projects. We are a video game development studio based in Quebec City and Montreal for over 20 years, bringing together hundreds of passionate talents united by a single ambition: to create unforgettable games across all platforms. This is a leadership role where you remain hands-on technically, with evolving responsibilities, a stimulating mobile project, and FUN on a daily basis!

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or another related field combined with equivalent experience
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in development
  • Experience as a Lead Programmer or in a similar role
  • Strong command of the Unreal game engine
  • Excellent knowledge of C++ and strong optimization skills
  • Ability to travel abroad when required
  • Strong oral and written communication skills in both French and English. English proficiency is required, as we collaborate with English-speaking partners.

Responsibilities

  • Daily Scrum meetings
  • Build a trusted relationship with the partner by acting as the main point of contact within your area of expertise
  • Contribute to the various stages of design and development of a video game on a mobile platform within a multidisciplinary production team
  • Maintain smooth communication with other departments (design, art, production) to ensure optimal integration of all project components
  • Provide your expertise to determine the most appropriate technical approaches to achieve the desired project outcomes
  • Ensure code quality and adherence to development best practices (code reviews, testing, optimization)
  • Mobilize, mentor, and support your direct team through ongoing coaching and continuous feedback
  • Collaborate with the Technical Director (Core Team) to ensure alignment with company standards
