KRAFTON Montréal StudioMontreal, QC

About The Position

We are a leading game development studio composed of veterans of the game industry. We are working on a game based on an acclaimed intellectual property set in an enthralling medieval fantasy world. This game is an AAA third-person action-adventure RPG experience, with a rich narrative and strategic gameplay. At Krafton Montreal, we believe in having fun while creating memorable experiences, being proud of our work, and showing respect for each other's contributions. We're looking for a Lead UI/UX Designer to own the user experience and visual identity of our AAA project. This is a hands-on role: you'll set the direction and get into the work yourself, shipping high-quality UI/UX deliverables alongside the team you guide. You bring deep user-centered design expertise, a proven AAA track record, and the ability to bridge creative vision with technical execution.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 7 years of professional UX/UI design experience, with a focus on video game development.
  • Proven track record of having shipped at least one AAA title, with hands-on ownership of both UX and visual identity.
  • Mastery of Figma for prototyping and collaborative design.
  • Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite: Photoshop (UI textures and layouts), Illustrator (iconography, vector assets), and After Effects (motion design and UI animation).
  • Strong understanding of Unreal Engine 5, including UI implementation pipelines, shader workflows, and performance optimization.
  • Solid knowledge of console TRC compliance and its impact on UX design decisions.
  • Experience with localization workflows including multi-language UI and text expansion.
  • Deep understanding of player psychology, usability, and accessibility, and how they inform AAA design systems and compliance standards.
  • Exceptional communication, leadership, and collaboration skills.
  • You communicate confidently in both French and English. French is the primary working language within our Montreal studio, while English is used regularly with our headquarters and international colleagues.

Nice To Haves

  • Curiosity about emerging technologies and generative AI tools in design workflows is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Define, own, and drive the UX strategy for the project, ensuring a cohesive and intuitive player experience.
  • Define and own the visual identity of the UI, setting the design language that carries across every screen and system.
  • Personally design and produce UX/UI deliverables, including wireframes, flows, high-fidelity screens, and prototypes, rather than direction alone.
  • Collaborate closely with design, art, and engineering teams to keep the player experience cohesive end to end.
  • Guide and mentor a team of UX/UI designers, fostering strong workflows and design craft.
  • Translate complex gameplay systems into intuitive, immersive, and accessible interfaces.
  • Ensure consistency, quality, and scalability of UX systems across platforms.
  • Drive the creation of advanced motion graphics for the UI, from concept through final polish.
  • Oversee localization pipelines, ensuring UX/UI systems are scalable, culturally adapted, and accessible to a global audience.

Benefits

  • Defined core working hours (allowing for flexibility).
  • Generous RRSP employer contributions.
  • Health, dental & wellness coverage including telemedicine.
  • Personal & wellness days.
  • OPUS & BIXI subsidy.
  • Yearly video game reimbursement.
