About The Position

The Gardner School of Herndon is seeking a Lead Two's Teacher for their State-of-the-Art facility. This role involves leading and inspiring a classroom with creativity, care, and excellence, mentoring assistant teachers, building relationships with families and children, planning engaging lessons, and maintaining a safe and joyful classroom environment. The Gardner School is an academically focused preschool for ages 6 weeks to 5 years, committed to stimulating children's physical, social, emotional, and intellectual growth. They offer extensive training, orientation, and continuing education programs, with opportunities for advancement within their growing organization across 8 states. The company emphasizes a strong internal path to promotions and seeks faculty members who love the early childhood profession and possess a positive curiosity that sparks confidence and joy.

Requirements

  • CDA or Associate's degree (required)
  • Current CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
  • 2+ years of early childhood education experience (lead or co-lead experience preferred)
  • Eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
  • Regular and reliable attendance.
  • Intermediate PC skills and proficiency with general administrative tasks.
  • Active engagement throughout the day including standing, sitting on the floor, bending, and lifting up to ~60 lbs.
  • Ability to fulfill cognitive and interpersonal aspects of a classroom leadership including speaking, hearing, reading, writing, focusing attention, and building relationships
  • Ability to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related degree (preferred)
