About The Position

Power Line Supply is seeking a full-time Lead Tool Repair Technician to join the growing team! This role involves overseeing tooling and fixture design, fabrication, maintenance, and repair, while leading a team that supports production, quality, and customer requirements. The Lead Tool Repair Technician will manage the tool room's equipment, materials, and related programs, ensuring serviceability and compliance with safety standards. Responsibilities include leading a team both in the shop and on the road, scheduling field work, and assisting with material handling. The role also involves disassembling, diagnosing, repairing, and reassembling mechanical and hydraulic tools, performing assembly and repair of mechanical grounds, and conducting testing of PPE and hot line tools. Additionally, the technician will execute stamping, marking, and packaging of PPE, adhere to testing standards, interpret technical prints, and assist with tool inventory management. Ensuring compliance with company safety policies is paramount.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Willingness to travel to customer sites when required

Nice To Haves

  • Technical or vocational training preferred
  • Experience with mechanical and/or hydraulic tool repair is highly desirable

Responsibilities

  • Overseeing tooling and fixture design, fabrication, maintenance, and repair
  • Leading a team that supports production, quality, and customer requirements
  • Managing the tool room's equipment, materials, and related programs
  • Ensuring serviceability and compliance with safety standards
  • Scheduling field work to meet customer needs while maintaining adequate time in the shop
  • Assisting in handling materials, tools, supplies, and test equipment in a safe and organized manner
  • Disassembling, diagnosing, repairing, and reassembling mechanical and hydraulic tools
  • Performing assembly and repair of mechanical grounds
  • Conducting testing of PPE, including gloves, sleeves, blankets, line hoses, hoods, and related equipment
  • Executing stamping, marking, and packaging of PPE in accordance with customer specifications
  • Adhering to all applicable testing standards, including ASTM, ANSI, NAIL, and other regulatory requirements
  • Interpreting technical prints, schematics, and diagrams to support repair and testing processes
  • Performing testing of hot line tools and grounds both in the facility and at customer job sites as needed
  • Conducting dielectric testing of insulated buckets and liners
  • Assisting with tool inventory management, including tracking, organization, and reporting
  • Ensuring that all scheduling activities comply with company safety policies and procedures
